The children's song about the little ducks leaving the nest to fly away has always been one of my favorites. Every mother has seen their babies fly away and rejoiced. Life comes full circle. Animals live that same cycle. Babies grow up. Birds leave the nest. Life goes on. So when the three ducks show up every year near my patio I am not surprised. But I am puzzled that it always seems to be the same three. Something just doesn't seem right. It appears the one did not fly away at all. Five little ducks Went out to play Over the hills and far away. The mommy duck went "quack, quack quack," Four little ducks came swimming back... And then Three Two and One. A drake, a female duck (a hen) and a not quite a drake but still not a hen gather here on the 5th green of the golf course. She leads and the other two follow along obediently. They eat, sleep, and guard each other. Each and every day this time of year they come. I have not named them. Jinxing them would be very pos...
Retirement out here where the rubber meeds the road!
I too opted for the new blogger style. I like the streamlined look but I miss other features I had installed like Feedjit and my blogroll.
ReplyDeleteTami, I found a way to put Feedjit back on this one too. It is fun to watch. Now I need to reconfigure so i have the reply function.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the big gold picture that says "Blog" mean? I think it's sort of nice, but I really liked your previous one better. Just my two cents. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe yellow picture was a Google executive decision. I did not include a picture but put Zamanta chosen backlinks at the bottom. They used one of those pictures.
DeleteI think it looks great. That being said, I really dislike (as a follower who enjoys leaving comments) the Blogger interface. Wordpress makes it easy to comment without jumping through hoops. If I'm on my tablet or phone, I don't even try to leave a comment on a Blogger website since it is too much of a hassle.
ReplyDeleteI have added the reply function back in so hopefully that will get rid of all the hoops. I also eliminated the pop-out window. It is a process.
DeleteI like the nice big type. And normally, I like a lot of white space,
ReplyDeletebut maybe this is too much white space ... kinda blinding.
Good to know Tom. I will see what can be done. :)
DeleteI had been considering one of the new templates, but comments from those who had made the change indicated there were some bugs with these new versions that didn't allow certain functions to operate properly. If you stick with it I'll be interested to learn what your reaction is after several weeks. I think it is a good idea to freshen a blog's look every now and then.
ReplyDeleteI actually do it because I like the challenge. My reply function disappeared but I found the solution for fixing it. I will give it time and see what happens. Thanks for your input.
DeleteOne of the things that I am finding a little different is that it does not allow me to access edit on the blog itself evn though I am signed in. Maybe I am not doing it right. That adds a step.
